Marvel Animation's What If...? Season 3 Gets An Epic Trailer

Marvel's What If...? is the first animated entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That is, although there have been plenty of Marvel animated series, it is the first to be in continuity with the live-action films. After a fairly well-received first season, and a better received second season, the series is returning for a third and final season this Christmas. And the first trailer has arrived.

Based on the popular line of comics of the same name, What If...? depicts a series of alternative takes based on key moments in the MCU. Overseen by The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright), we see various What If..? scenarios featuring popular Marvel characters- and in most cases voiced by their original voice actors.

Season three promises among other things a kung-fu western featuring Shang Chi, a reality where The Avengers pilot an anime style mecha, Darcy going on an adventure with Howard The Duck and the return of Moon Knight. Additionally, the series will feature a packed roster of returning heroes and villains. But most intriguingly of all, perhaps, is the MCU debut of X-Men character Storm, appearing as the "Goddess of Thunder".

What If...? is created by A.C. Bradley, and directed by Bryan Andrews and Stephan Franck. Episodes are written by Matthew Chauncey, Ryan Little, and A.C. Bradley. It features the voices of Simu Liu, Karen Gillan, Taika Waititi, Danai Gurira, Elizabeth Olsen, Dominic Cooper, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Oscar Isaac, David Harbour and many more.

What If...? Season 3 will stream exclusively on Disney Plus from December 22, releasing one episode a day until the finale on December 29.
