Manchester Animation Festival Announces Dates
The United Kingdom's leading animation event Manchester Animation Festival is due to return this year for their 10th edition. The festival has now announced this year's dates: the festival will run this year from 10-14 November. Additionally, they have announced that this year's full program will be released on Monday, September 23. Launching at the same time, MAF will be revamping their website, in order to better explore everything that the festival has to offer.
Ahead of this year's festival, MAF presents a special 15th Anniversary Screening of Adam Elliot's Mary And Max. The stop-motion classic depicts the unlikely friendship between an eight-year-old from Melbourne, and a forty-four-year-old man from New York. Becoming pen-pals, the two form a friendship that transcends distance and age. Book tickets here.
The Animation Nation Fourm was rebranded last year, in an effort to better encapsulate what they hope to achieve with the event bringing animation companies from near and far together, and to hear from the industry's top figures.
Over the past two years, ANF has welcomed leadership from the BBC, Aardman Animation, Magic Light Pictures, ILM, Blue Zoo, Locksmith Animation, Lupus Films, Animation UK and more.Also returning to the nearby Bridgewater Hall is the Markeplace. Bridgewater Hall is the place to network, and meet studios new and old and find out about their upcoming projects. The Animation Nation Forum will take place all day on Thursday November 16. Passes will go on sale when the program launches at the end of November. The Marketplace is free for all delegates to attend.
