Dulcie Clark Receiving Inaugural TAC Lifetime Achievement Award

The Ottawa International Animation Festival is among the world's leading animation festivals. It certainly has a strong claim to be the biggest animation event in the Americas at least. Being awarded a prize by OIAF is a very prestigious thing for any animator.

This year, for the first time Jam Filled Entertainment, a Boat Rocker company, will present the inaugural TAC Lifetime Achievement Award. It will be awarded to Ottawa native and founder and CEO of Pip Animation Studios, Dulcie Clark. The award will be presented during the OIAF at the Industry Counterpart,  The Animation Conference (TAC), on September 26, 2024, at the National Arts Centre (NAC) in Ottawa.  Dulcie will be recognized for her contributions both to the local and international animation industries.

“At the OIAF, we are honoured to present the inaugural TAC Lifetime Achievement Award to Dulcie, a trailblazer and an outstanding leader in the industry,” says OIAF Managing Director Kelly Neall. “Dulcie empowered and mentored a whole generation of industry talent. As we worked to build the OIAF, she always supported the Festival and gave helpful advice. At TAC, we are excited to celebrate her extraordinary career and look forward to the continued impact of her work in the animation community.”

As the founder and CEO of Pip Animation, Dulcie has been in the industry since 1988. Her filmography includes several TV series, TV specials and two feature films Pirates Passage (2015) and Lamya’s Poem (2021). Under her leadership, the studio has been awarded numerous awards and recognitions.

“Throughout her career, Dulcie has made a tremendous impact on the animation community, both locally and internationally,” says Tori Coulthart, Executive Vice President of Production, Jam Filled Entertainment. “It’s an honour for Jam Filled to present her with the inaugural TAC Lifetime Achievement Award and celebrate her significant accomplishments together.”

TAC Attendees are invited to the awards ceremony in the Rossy Pavilion at the NAC, followed by a cake reception at the Delegate Lounge to celebrate Dulcie. The TAC is celebrating its 20-year milestone, but this is the first time that a TAC Lifetime Achievement Award has been awarded.

This year's Ottawa International Animation Festival will run from September 25-29. The Animation Conference (TAC) runs from September 25- 27.
