Titmouse Enters Pact With Polygon Pictures To Produce CGI Series
Titmouse is one of North America's leading animation studios producing animated programming for adult and general audiences. Their work includes The Legend of Vox Machina, Star Trek Lower Decks, Venture Bros, Big Mouth, Beavis and Butthead, Among Us, Frog and Toad, Nerdland and many more. This week they have announced a new partnership with Japan's Polygon Pictures to develop multiple CG-focused projects for both adult and children's audiences.
Titmouse are known as a 2D animation outfit, while Polygon Pictures are known as one of Japan's foremost producers of 3D CGI. Their work includes Knights Of Sidonia, Pacific Rim: The Black, Transformers Prime, Love Death + Robots, Star Wars Resistance, Ronja The Robber's Daughter and more.
“We're seeing more and more prestige CG series happening in the adult space, like Blue Eye Samurai and Arcane, and since Polygon is known for its CG expertise and Titmouse is known for our adult animated series and unique point of view, we quickly realized this would be a match made in animation heaven,” said Ben Kalina, Chief Creative Officer, Titmouse Inc.
The partnership is non-exclusive and will allow both parties to continue to collaborate with other studios. The idea is to combine the best of both studios to create multiple original series. It will therefore most likely combine Polygon's polished CGI visuals and Titmouse's adult perspective and comedic know-how. Although Titmouse has primarily worked in adult comedy Polygon has worked much more in the field of action. This partnership will allow both studios to expand their scope. Polygon's proficiency in various areas, primarily high-end action will allow this deal "to produce CG series we have not yet been seeing on streaming platforms", according to the press release announcing the deal.
“Culturally, the work that we produce is so in line with what Titmouse does, and bringing the best of what we both do to this partnership to develop some mind-blowing CG series is going to be beyond fun,” said Jack Liang, Executive Producer VP of International Business Development and Licensing, Polygon Pictures. “This groundbreaking collaboration with our good friends at Titmouse will turbocharge our corporate mission to 'do what no other has done, in unparalleled quality, for all the world to see and enjoy.’”
Multiple series are already in development and will be revealed at a later date. Which streaming platforms might be involved is also yet to be determined. We'll bring you more information on this as soon as we've got it!
