'Scavenger's Reign' Gets A Teaser Trailer and Premiere Date

Times have been tough for animation on Max (formerly HBO Max). Numerous series and movies have been not only cancelled but completely removed from streaming as parent company Warner Bros. Discovery attempts to balance the books. Luckily. new animated series are still getting released. New shows like Scavenger's Reign.

Scavenger's Reign is an adult animated sci-fi. It's rare for western adult animation in that it's not a comedy. It doesn't immitate anime either- it more closely resembles the visual style of European comics than anything else.

The show is created by Joe Bennett and Charles Huettner,  The remaining crew of a damaged interstellar spacecraft find thesmelves stranded on a beautiful but unforgiving alien planet, where they must survive long enough to escape or be rescued. As they try to locate the wreck of their ship and their missing crewmates, their new home reveals itself to be a hostile evvironment, able to thrive for millenia without human interference.

Featuring stunning animation and a unique atmopshere, Scavenger's Reign "presents a wholly unique view of the consequences of unchecked hubris and humanity’s eternal desire to conquer the unknown."

The voice cast features Cast includes Wunmi Mosaku  as Azi, Bob Stephenson as Sam, Sunita Mani  as Ursula, Ted Travelstead as Kamen and Alia Shawkat as Levi. 

The show ie executive produced by Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse,  Joe Bennet, Charles Huettner, as well as co-executive proudcers Sean Buckelew and James Merrill and Supervising Director Benjy Brooke from Green Street Pictures. The series is written by Bennet and Huettner with Jenny Deiker Restivo.

The show will debut with three episodes from Thursday October 19 at midnight PT. Three new episodes will follow weekly until November 9.
