Anime Expo: Crunchyroll Previews Upcoming Titles
Last weekend saw the Anime Expo event return to LA in full force. Among the big names in anime in attendance to preview their upcoming delights was Crunchyroll. Here's the big reveals from their industry panel.
Solo Leveling is an adaptation of the Korean manhwa of the same name written by Chugong and illustrated by DUBU (REDICE Studio). Animation production is by A-1 Pictures and Crunchyroll will simulcast the show worldwide outside of Asia.
It's been over a decade since the sudden appearance of the "gates"—the paths that connect our world with a different dimension. Since then, certain humans have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these individuals "hunters." Hunters make their living by using their powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates. In this world of tough customers, the low-ranked hunter Jinwoo Sung is known as "the weakest hunter of all mankind." One day, Jinwoo gets fatally injured when he runs into high-rank double dungeons hidden within a low-rank dungeon. Just then, a mysterious quest window appears in front of him. On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to accept the quest and starts leveling up... while the others aren't.
Tomo-Chan Is A Girl is an adaptation of the manga by Fumita Yanagida, and will be produced by studio Lay-duce. Crunchyroll will stream the series in 2023
Synopsis: The demon by her side is her salvation. The girl by his side is his pastime. Their encounter in the late nineteenth-century British Empire begins the tale of a search for someplace to belong. To their fellow outcasts, this demon and girl whisper their tale in the dark of night.
Two new My Hero Academia Season 5 OAVS will be available from August 1. HLB and Laugh! As If You are In Hell will be streaming with both subbed and dubbed versions.
Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac - Battle for Sanctuary will premiere on Crunchyroll this summer. The series dub and subbed versions will be released at the same time. Available dubs will include English, Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
A new preview trailer was released for Trigun Stampede the recently announced new adaptation of the popular manga set to stream on Crunchyroll in 2023. The new series is a CG anime produced by the studio Orange (Beastars)
