Animator Interview #42 featuring Jinkyu Jeon

 

Evan Vernon interviews Jinkyu Jeon, directors of The House of Loss, featured in Program 72 of our In Competition Films for Season 7 of Animation Nights New York.

 

THE HOUSE OF LOSS

The elderly at the nursing home have their heads shaved. The protagonist who works there sees them but can't read their expressions. However, from one instance, he finds himself looking closely at their faces.

 

Jinkyu Jeon

Jinkyu Jeon was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1987. In 2008-2015 he studied animation at the “Korea National University of Arts”. In 2015-2017, he worked as a 2D animator at "Studio Shelter" and in  2019, he worked as a 2D animator at "Workroom Yaha". In 2018-2022, he studied animation at the “Tokyo National University of Arts”.
