New Trailers: The Cuphead Show, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, The Boys: Diabolical and More
We've got another whole new batch of trailers for new (and returning shows) hitting a streaming service or TV near you soon. There's new promos from Netflix, Disney Plus, Cartoon Network and from Prime Video, who seem to be stepping up their adult animation game in 2022.
The groundbreaking Disney Channel series The Proud Family is returning with a revival series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder coming to Disney Plus. Original creator Bruce W Smith is returning as Executive Producer, alongside a host of new and returning talent, while the original voice performers are being joined by a host of big-name guest stars. The original series was the first animated comedy to authentically represent Black family life in America and Louder and Prouder will bring this into the 2020s. The series streams from February 23.
The Boys: Diabolical is an adult animated anthology set in the world of Prime Video's hit superhero satire series The Boys. The Boys' executive producer Seth Rogen cheekily described it as a rip-off of The Animatrix, although based on the first look trailer, its style is going to be quite far removed its "inspiration". The clip features a classic cartoony western style, mixed with its parent series' brand of ultraviolence. We would assume that the other segments will feature a variety of styles. Diabolical will be available streaming to Prime Video customers from March 4.
The Cuphead Show the eagerly anticipated Netflix show based on the hit indie video game Cuphead has finally got a full trailer and an official release date. The game grabbed attention with a graphical style that was inspired by classic Fleisher shorts. The series captures this beautifully with a bit of an added modern sheen. Between this, Arcane and Castlevania, it feels like the notorious video game curse has finally been broken. Stream The Cuphead Show from February 18.
