Attack On Titan: The Final Season Part 2 Starts January 8
Attack On Titan, one of the breakout hit animes of the 21st century is about to finally come to its conclusion with the airing of Attack On Titan The Final Season Part 2. The gripping, dramatic and emotionally resonant series has won fans the world over with its captivating tale.
For the benefit of those who have been living under a rock, the series is set in a world where the remnants of humanity have been forced to retreat into walled cities, while giant, terrifying man-eating Titans roam outside. The Scout Regiment are mankind's only hope. The series is based on the best-selling manga by Hajime Isayama, and has also spun-off several anime compilation features, videogames and two live-action movies.
Ahead of the airing of the first episode on January 8, Crunchyroll has released a new trailer. It's going to get long term fans right in the feels, as it doesn't seemingly feature footage from the new season, but rather flashbacks to the earliest episodes, and concentrates on the emotional angle as the story began way back in 2013 prepares to finally reach its climax.
Meanwhile, Funimation have released a more traditional trailer, one that actually relates more directly to the plot of the final episodes. If you're not up to date with the first half of the season, beware spoilers!
The war for Paradis zeroes in on Shiganshina just as Jaegerists have seized control. After taking a huge blow from a surprise attack led by Eren, Marley swiftly acts to return the favor. With Zeke’s true plan revealed and a military forced under new rule, this battle might be fought on two fronts. Does Eren intend on fulfilling his half-brother’s wishes or does he have a plan of his own?
Attack On Titan The Final Season Part 2 will stream from January 9 on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Season 1-4 are also available streaming now on both sites (and Hulu in the US). Crunchyroll and Funimation also began streaming eight OAV episodes in December 2021. It's unknown how many episodes will make up the final part or whether they will all air during 2022- but we'll bring you more information when we can.
