Ted Lasso- The Missing Christmas Mustache
Apple TV+ breakout hit (perhaps their only real hit so far)
Ted Lasso is a favourite with critics and fans alike. In a fun
surprise, Apple have released a stop-motion animated Christmas short featuring
Ted and the gang at AFC Richmond in a slightly off-kilter festive
frolic.
Light Lunch｜Simon's Cat
In this year's Simon's Cat season special, our favourite feline is back
for another cute, funny and brilliantly observed slice of animated genius.
Simon tries to enjoy his Christmas dinner in peace while his ever-hungry
kittie tries his best to crash the party.
Christmas With The Moonies
In this comedic short from the UK's Blue Zoo Animation, originally
released in 2018 and back for this year, The Moonies are a chaotic
couple out for a festive drive when they run into a certain white-bearded
red-clad gentleman... quite literally. For those who like their festive
funnies with a dark edge. This short was made entirely in Unreal Engine.
Waaber ⎸ MerryChristmas
Stop-motion animator Waaber's fun festive short features his usual blobby
characters offering viewers a festive message. Keep watching for some
revealing making-of footage of the production of this virtual Christmas card.
No More Stuff
This year's new animation from Blue Zoo is a very funny and brilliantly
made movie trailer parody featuring a vengeful Santa on the rampage. It's a follow on of
sorts from the previous BZShorts musical Christmas animation More Stuff. See all their Christmassy shorts here.
The Stepdad ⎸Disney UK
Christmas adverts are a big deal in the UK. Various companies and broadcasters
try to outdo each other and become the commercial to go viral that year. A
large percentage of them are animated, and the percentage is probably even
higher this year, when the animation industry has been less affected by the
pandemic than any other part of the film and TV sector. This one is made for
Disney UK's 'From Our Family To Yours' campaign and in support of
the Make A Wish foundation. Sure, it's an advert for the biggest
entertainment company in the world, but it's absolutely beautifully made and
if it doesn't affect you even a little, then you might just have a lump of
coal where your heart should be.

Web animation icon Mr Weebl has scaled back his animated Advent
Calendar Colander over recent years. And who can blame him?
Much as we enjoyed the full-scale years, trying to put out 24 or 25
pieces of animation in as many days is an insane idea. This year, like last,
he's just put out a handful of new animations, and we are grateful for each

Sleigh Ride ⎸Ella Fitzgerald
Ovet the past couple of years, music video giant VEVO has commissioned animated music videos to accompany classic Christmas songs from the likes on Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley and Bing Crosby.
