'Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse: Part One' Teaser Drops,

The world is currently gripped by Spider-Man fever. Later this month, the latest live-action Spidey movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home swings on to multiplexes, and has been breaking records in trailer views and tickets presales. The newest movie will see Tom Holland's Peter Parker contend with challenges of the multiverse for the first time. Rumour has it that Holland's incarnation will share the screen with earlier iterations of the character as played by Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield. Arriving next year will be the eagerly anticipated sequel to Sony Pictures Animations' Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The first teaser trailer has now been released, arriving just in time to accompany the cinema release of No Way Home.

The first teaser takes place " In Another, Another Universe.." with a sequence that apparently picks up exactly where the first film left off. It features Gwen Stacey's Ghost-Spider paying a visit to Miles Morales' universe for unknown reasons. It's fantastic to see that animation style again and Miles is as charming a character as ever. It also sets up the fact that the relationship between Miles and Gwen will be central to this sequel, although there's still set to be plenty of multiversal antics, including multiple spider-people from alternate dimensions.

We then cut to a sequence of Miles falling through what appears to be a dimensional portal and into an unfamiliar city, where he encounters another version of Spider-Man. Interestingly, this sequence has a totally different animation style, a sketchy 2D style.

The trailer also reveals the official title for the sequel is Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. The title and the teaser are pretty heavily implying how the sequel will differ. Although the first film featured Miles visited by Spider-folk from other universes, this time, the plot will see Miles and Gwen travelling to multiple universes.

Even more intriguing is what came after that reveal. A second title card reads "Part One",  revealing that we'll apparently be getting at least one more Spider-Verse movie.

The sequel has a brand new directing team consisting of Avatar The Last Air Bender and Voltron's Joaquim Dos Santos, Soul co-director Kemp Powers and Justin K Thompson, an award-winning production designer on the first movie. Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are returning to pen the screenplay alongside newcomer Dave Callahan who wrote Marvel's hit Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The 10 Rings.  Peter Ramsey, one of the original directors is also on board as Executive Producer.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Part One will arrive in cinemas on October 7 2022.
