🎃 Cartoon Box Halloween Compilation
Zombies and Witches are favourites of the funny folk at Frame Order, producers of the series Cartoon Box. In this seasonal compilation of sketches, there are some brilliantly unexpected twists on horror and folklore tropes.
🎃 Rest in Peace
Just in time for the spooky season, it's the latest of this year's crop of
graduation shorts from Gobelins. In this stylish and creepy short, a family
look for justice for their departed loved one. But the village's apparently
charming Governor hides a sinister secret. Directed by Deborah Balboa, Karien Benz, Kai-Hsun Chan, Aparna Hedge and Yuk Yan Tsoi
🎃 Simon's Cat | The Monster Returns
Our fave fictional feline is back with another Halloween special. This being Simon's Cat, there's nothing really scary or spooky about it, but it sees our kittie have a rematch with his nemesis: The Monster. Also known as the vacuum cleaner...
🎃 Brawl-O-Ween
There's a really fun cartoony 2D style to this video, made to promote the online video game Brawl Stars. There's also a manic energy on display that gives all of the characters unique personality and allow it to appeal beyond fans of the game itself.
🎃 The Nightmare Before Christmas ( Hot Topic Parody)
The classic Henry Selick stop-motion film gets the fan film spoof treatment nearly 30 years later. FlashGitz delivers impressive stop-motion that does an impressive job of recreating the original, although this is most assuredly not family-friendly. The humour is pretty mean spirited but it's an impressive piece of work.
🎃Ozzy Osborne | Hellraiser (30th Anniversary Edition)
Animated versions of metal icons Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy from Motörhead take on demonic alien invaders in this music video for their collaboration Hellraiser. Made to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the track's original release, the video feels like album cover art come to life or the best 80s horror/sci-fi film never made. The video is produced by New York based producers Hey Beautiful Jerk and directed by Mark Szumski and Gina Niespodziani.
🎃 WAW Classic: My Friend Who Shines At Night
Web Animation Watch classics delves through the archive to revisit some of our favourites from the 100s of featured films.
WHAT WE SAID: In this latest film from 2020's crop of Graduate films from Paris's Gobelins Animation School, a kindly man befriends a ghost who has lost their way on route to the afterlife. With the ghost having no memory of who they were, the two try to get to the bottom of it, and along the way form a bond. By turns creepy, funny, sweet and ultimately uplifting this is a superb piece of work. It's got a great-and unmistakably French- artstyle too. In French with optional English subtitles.
