Disney+ : Star Wars Visions, Lego Star Wars, SparkShorts and More Coming This Autumn
In less than two years Disney Plus has risen to become one of the most popular streaming sites in the world. It's currently the third most popular streamer in the US, with 14% of the market share in the first half of 2021, compared to Amazon Prime Video's 20% and Netflix's 28% (source; JustWatch). And it continues to gain on its more established rivals. Disney Plus has been pumping out the must-see exclusive content to far this year, with Marvel series Wandavison, The Falcon And The Winter Solider, Loki and What If...?, Pixar's Luca and more. The second half of the year isn't going to let up either.
A new poster has been revealed for the LucasFilm anime anthology Star Wars Visions, ahead of its debut on Disney Plus on September 22. The poster features characters from all nine featured shorts- all of which are due to arrive on launch day. Keeping it in the Galaxy Far Away, a new LEGO Star Wars special has been revealed, following last year's Holiday Special. Terrifying Tales is a Halloween themed Original Special, coming to Disney Plus on October 1. Check out the trailer, below.
Popular family franchise Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is set to return with a brand new movie. This time, however, it's animated. Jeff Kinney's book series has sold over 250 million copies worldwide in just 14 years. The new movie takes it all back to the beginning with an adaptation of the first book in the series and will feature a screenplay from the author himself.

Pixar's SparkShorts Program brings us two new shorts and a documentary to Disney Plus this September. The first short Twenty Something is a 2d animated look at the challenges of "adulting", and is available now. The second Nonna, featuring a grandmother's day off arrives on September 17. Arriving on September 24 new documentary A Spark Story offers an intimate look at the production of the films in the program. The doc is a co-production between Pixar and Supper Club.
