As the animation industry booms, it can be hard to keep up with all the trailers coming out. That's where we come in. Take a seat, grab your popcorn and join us as we look at the latest in greatest in animation movie and TV trailers.
Robin Robin
Aardman Animation have offered us our first proper look at the upcoming
Christmas special they are bringing to Netflix later this year. Aardman have seemingly stepped away from their typical house style (which follows the style of
Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park).Robins Robin has an incredibly charming felt style but will still be full of Aardman's usual wit and clever writing. It looks like it could
be something special when it arrives this holiday season.
Central Park season 2
Apple TV Plus's first adult animated comedy is returning for a second
season this June. Bob's Burgers creator Loren Bouchard and
Josh Gad's musical comedy may not have made too big of an impact when it debuted last year, but those who watched it would have found there's a lot to love. Season two promises more of the warm-hearted family comedy and toe-tapping tunes that made season one such a delight.
Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans
Guillermo Del Toro's ambitious Tales Of Arcadia trilogy comes to
its conclusion in the suitably epic looking Rise Of The Titans. The
heroes from the Arcadia series Trollhunters, 3Below and
Wizards must come together to save their hometown Arcadia- and the
world- from a shadowy threat. The trailer shows that fans of the series should
be more than satisfied that this is going out with a bang.
Cenataurworld
We would have to say there is very little chance of you seeing anything else
this year quite as utterly bonkers looking as Cenatuarworld. A horse from a
classical style fantasy world is somehow magically transported to another
world- an incredibly strange place populated by eccentric and colourful
creatures with a habit of breaking into song. You're either going to love this
or be utterly baffled. Or possibly a bit of both. Coming to Netflix in late July.
Dogtanian & The Three Muskhaounds
UK readers of a certain vintage will well remember the 80's Spanish/Japanese
cartoon based on the classic Alexandre Dumas swashbuckler- and that its
theme tune is an all-time great. This CG feature adaptation looks like it's going to
be pretty faithful to the original series both in character design and tone-
plus add in some more cinematic set-pieces. The film is headed for UK cinemas
later this month but there's no news of a US release just yet.
Space Jam: A New Legacy trailer 2
The long-awaited Space Jam sequel finally touches down next month and
the newest trailer is here to whet your appetite. The new trailer shows more
footage of the 3D incarnation of the Looney Tunes icons: fans are divided over
whether that's a good thing or not.
Tom and Jerry In New York
New on HBO Max next month, this new 2D animated series is based on the
recent Tom and Jerry The Movie. So just as in the movie, the cat
and mouse duo relocate to The Big Apple where Tom is hired as security in a
posh hotel. Despite the new set-up, it's basically an excuse for the classic
cat and mouse antics that have made them so popular for many years. But if it ain't broke, why fix it?
