Annecy Online Opens, Commissioned Films Available For Free

Today marks the opening day of a very different Annecy International Animation Festival. Sadly, the animation world is not able to gather together in person in the picturesque French town as they normally would. But the festival has been replaced with the online event, allowing anyone from anywhere in the world to take part. The festival runs from June 15-30.

Purchase a pass from the festival website and you'll gain access to the online offering through a dedicated platform, allowing you to watch any of the content on demand whenever you like- with the exception of live-streamed events, which will be available to replay after they have taken place. It costs €15  (about £13.50 or $17), and the only downside is that some of the selection (including Lupin III: The First and Calamity) are only available as extracts.

If you don't want to shell out for access, you can get a decent amount of content relating to Annecy 2020 on the festival's YouTube channel, including the full selection of Commissioned Films.

You can view the whole selection here, as well as the presentations and panels here.
