Promare Collector's Edition, Ride Your Wave, Yashahime: Princess Half Demona & More
GKIDS Films and Shout Factory have announced that they will release a collector's edition of Trigger's worldwide anime smash Promare later this year. The film is currently available on digital in North America and will arrive on Blu-Ray Combo-pack, Steelbook Blu-Ray and standalone DVD on May 19. The collector's edition is being produced in partnership with British distributor Anime Limited who will release it in the UK. In addition to the special features included with the standard edition (including short films and interviews), the collector's edition will include a CD Soundtrack, 52-Page booklet, Souvenir English script, Mini-poster and Decal Sticker exclusive to this release. The UK edition will retail for £39.99 and be released on June 28, alongside the standard releases. The US release will be released August 4, for a suggested retail price of $64.99.

GKIDS Films and Shout Factory have also announced the home release of Masaaki Yuasa's newest award-winning feature Ride Your Wave will also be released on August 4. The film will arrive on Digital, Blu-Ray Combo pack and standalone DVD and will feature producer interviews, animated storyboards and an exclusive booklet. Synopsis:
Hinako is a surf-loving college student who has just moved to a small seaside town. When a fire breaks out at her apartment building, she is rescued by Minato, a handsome firefighter, and the two soon fall in love. Just as they become inseparable, Minato loses his life in an accident at sea. Hinako is so distraught that she can no longer even look at the ocean, but one day she sings a song that reminds her of their time together, and Minato appears in the water. From then on, she can summon him in any watery surface as soon as she sings their song. But can the two really remain together forever?
Viz Media have announced that they have acquired the digital, broadcast and home video rights to upcoming series Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon for North and Latin America. The series is a 'next generation' continuation of the beloved fantasy saga Inuyasha featuring the children of characters from the original. It will feature half-demon twins Towa and Setsuna and Moroha, (daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome) going on adventures that cross between feudal Japan and the modern day. Original creator Rumiko Takahashi returns as original character designer. The series will be made at Sunrise with Teruo Sato directing from a screenplay written by Katsuyuki Sumisawa. Yoshihito Hishinuma is animation character designer and Kaoru Wada is writing the music.
The DC Universe adult animation Harley Quinn is getting its US Cable premiere on SyFY- so non-subscribers can see the potty-mouthed anti-heroine's first series for themselves. The series will join SyFy's late-night animation block TZGZ, on 12:30 ET/PT Saturday, May 9 (tonight, at time of posting) as well as airing 4 episode blocks Sundays from 11pm (the first 4 aired last Sunday).
17 anime series from Crunchyroll will be available on HBO Max from launch later this month. They will include Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Keep Your Hands off Eizouken and Re:Zero. HBO Max will feature a curated selection of anime from the Crunchyroll library, refreshed every three months. Death Note and Hunter X Hunter will be added later in the year.
