UK 'Your Name','Weathering With You' Double Bill Screenings Announced

This summer Makoto Shinkai's new film Weathering With You, the follow up to his record-breaking Your Name opened in Japan. But unless you've been lucky enough to catch the film at one of its various festival screenings, western fans have been left waiting to see the film themselves.  It's not too far away now, with both the US and UK releases set for January 2020.

UK distributor Anime Limited have surprised British fans with the news that they are going to get a chance to see the film a little bit earlier than previously announced. And in an unexpected form that Shinkai fans are going to flip out over.

Weathering With You will be released in the UK on January 17. However, selected cinemas will be screening the film on January 15 as part of a double bill with Your Name. Both films will be screening in subtitled format. Tickets for the double bill are now on sale. Tickets for the standard release (dubbed and subtitled) are expected to go on sale in mid-December.

GKIDS Films will release the film in the US on January 17, with special Fan Preview Fathom Events screenings on the 15 and 16. It will also screen for one week only from November 29-December 5 at  Laemmle Theater's Monica Film Center in Santa Monica, California.
