Kyoto Animation Targeted in Suspected Arson Attack
The animation world is in shock today as Kyoto Animation's first studio building has been targeted in a suspected arson attack, leaving at least 23 people dead and many more injured or missing. The studio was founded in 1981 is best known for producing popular anime such as K-On, A Silent Voice, Free and many more. It's unbelievable that someone would target any animation studio in this way. This has to be the most tragic event to strike the animation world in living memory
Local news reported that a man "threw a liquid and set fire to it" at the company's Kyoto studio. The 41 year-old suspect has been detained and has apparently admitted starting the fire. His motives are not known.
