'Funan' Screening Details Revealed
Denis Do's Cambodia set Funan is a moving, deeply personal film. It tells the story of a young woman named Chou trying to reunite with her young family when they are separated during the coming of the Khmer Rogue. Based on Do's own family history, it's a stunning piece of work and "anybody who takes animation seriously owes it to themselves to see this," we said in our review. In 2018 it won the Cristal Award for Best Feature Film at Annecy, and the top prize at Animation Is Film festival. In 2019 GKIDS Films bring the film to audiences in the United States.
Following screenings in LA and New York, the film is rolling out across the US throughout July. Additional screenings may be added at a later date, check the website for updates. Check out the list below!
