'DC Super Hero Girls' Series Launches On Cartoon Network This March
Lauren Faust creator of My Little Pony: Freindship Is Magic is returning to Cartoon Network, the channel where she first made her name working on The Powerpuff Girls and Fosters Home For Imaginary Freinds.
The series which drew her back is DC Super Hero Girls, a new action comedy series centered on the female Super Hero (and villain) characters in the DC Universe. The new series is based on an existing range of comics, animation and merchandise featuring the characters but will feature new designs and stories created by Faust. The new version of the characters first appeared in the short The Late Bastby, which played in cinemas before Teen Titans Go To The Movies last year.
The new series kicks off with an hour-long TV movie called Sweet Justice on Cartoon Network US on March 8, premiering at 6pm ET/PT. The rest of the series will then start airing on Sundays, starting March 17 from 4pm ET/PM.
Sweet Justice will introduce the characters and see them team up to take on one of Metropolis's most sinister villains.
DC Super Hero Girls features the voices of Tara Strong as Batgirl, Grey Griffin as Wonder Woman, Kari Wahlgren as Zatanna, Nicole Sullivan as Supergirl, Kimberly Brooks as Bumblebee and Myrna Velasco as Green Lantern Jessica Cruz.
