Nominees Announced For Second Quirino Awards
Last year saw the inaugural Ibero-American Quirino Awards, designed to recognise the best in Animation produced in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking world. The second iteration of the awards will take place on April 6 in Tenerife, Spain, and the nominations have been announced.
The nominations cover a total of 37 works nominated across nine categories. Nominees come from eight different countries, with the most coming from Spain, Brazil and Argentina. The most nominated films (with 3 nods apiece) are La Noria, Mum’s the Word and Lorenzo Live 2018. In features, Tito and The Birds, Another Day Of Life and Tropical Virus picked up two nominations each.
Each category will be voted on by an international jury and narrowed down to three finalists, due to be announced on February 19, in Madrid.
