First 'She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power' Teaser Arrives
The upcoming 80s reboot She-ra And The Princesses Of Power from DreamWorks and Netflix has been generating considerable excitement. Acclaimed comic author and showrunner Noelle Stevenson is breathing fresh life into the series, as revealed by the first images released earlier this year.
DreamWorks has now unveiled the first trailer for the series. As it is a teaser trailer there's really not much to it. However, it does give us our first look at the series in motion.
We see main character Adora encounter the magic sword that will transform her into She-Ra for the first time. Meanwhile, a mysterious voice (could it be the sword itself?) explains to a disbelieving Adora that she has hidden powers. "The Time has come to show you your destiny!"
"You're not making any sense! I don't understand!" says Adora.
"You will..." comes the mysterious reply.
We then see Adora become She-Ra, in a transformation sequence straight out of Sailor Moon or a similar' magical girl' anime.
The teaser may be short (less than a minute) but it does give us quite a good idea of both the look and feel of the series. Although there will surely be lighter moments and comedy, the tone here seems like a realtivley serious fantasy. Which would be quite a departure from the original.
The animation is looking very good, too. With DreamWorks' last 80s reboot Voltron Legendary Defender nearing its final season, She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power looks like it is could be ready to take over as their next fan favourite.
The first season will arrive on Netflix worldwide on November 16, 2018
