Scotland Loves Anime Glasgow Leg Screening 'Mirai', 'Penguin Highway' and More
Scotland Loves Anime is a well established annual event bringing a selection of new and classic Japanese animated films to Scottish cities Glasgow and Edinburgh. In later years it has expanded to cover Aberdeen, Dumfries and Dundee as well. This year's festival is set to run from October 12-14 (Glasgow) and 15-21 (Edinburgh). The announcement of each year's line-up has become quite an event for the UK anime community in itself.
The first part to be announced is (as every year) the Glasgow leg. The screenings take place at the Glasgow Film Theatre.
This year's line-up is headlined by the Scottish premiere of Mamoru Hosoda's latest, Mirai and the European premiere of Studio Colorido's Penguin Highway. Production IG's Neflix series B The Begining will screen the opening episodes followed by a Q & A with Kazuto Nakazawa.
Also screening is Shinichirô Ushijima's strangely titled melodrama I Want To Eat Your Pancreas.
The first movie spin-off of the popular My Hero Academia series The Two Heroes will get its UK premiere as will the first movie in the new Fate/Stay Night series, Heaven's Feel. Giant Robot fans will be pleased to see that The first Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt movie will be screening.
Finally, for fans of old-school cyberpunk, the classic 90's anime OAV series Cybercity Oedo from Madhouse and Yoshiaki Kawajiri will be also be shown.
Tickets are available now, as well as a Glasgow SLA Weekend Pass.
