'Your Name' Coming to North America This April
In the week in which Makoto Shinkai's latest opus Your Name overtook Spirited Away to become the highest grossing anime worldwide, the film finally has a release date for North America. The film has already played in Japan, The UK, China, France and South Korea and had a short awards-qualifying run in Los Angeles at the end of last year. Other than that though, fans in the United States and Canada have been waiting to here when it would finally come to a cinema near them.
Funimation have now revealed that the film will arrive on April 7th, 2017. The film will screen in both English dubbed and subtitled versions, although other details about the release have yet to be announced. We'll let you know as soon as we hear more.
Funimation also announced that the English dubbed version will also include English-language versions of the film's highly popular soundtrack by Japanese band RADWIMPS. Although the English dub was first released in the UK, the new soundtrack will make its debut in Funimation's version.
Your Name tells the story of two Japanese teens Mitsuha and Taki who mysteriously wake up in each other's bodies. Check out our review here.
