Crowdfund This: Frank Quitely's 'Nothing To Declare'
Halloween may be over for another year, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop. Nothing To Declare is an animated horror short for adult audiences that is currently in production in Scotland. The film is being written and designed by renowned comic-book artist Frank Quitely- a veteran of Marvel, DC and 2000AD- and directed by BAFTA-nominated Will Adams. The film-makers have now launched an IndieGoGo campaign in order to complete the film.
Quitely has worked with a number of the biggest names in comics including Mark Millar, Neil Gaiman and Grant Morrison but this will be the first time he's worked on a project of this kind. "We thought it would be great to see how he would approach animation", producer Mal Young told us. "Making a film that is focused directly at an adult audience was very important to the team, especially the director, as we wanted to show the range of subject matter and commentary that can be achieved through animation."
The exact nature of the story is under wraps but the pitch is sure to grab your attention- "an animated film where the end of the world could start next door". It features a 19-year-old backpacker who returns home from travelling, only to find something he has done for his sister has unexpected consequences.
You can find out more by watching the video or visiting the campaign page. The project seeks $10,000 by December 1st. The perks start at $2 and include onscreen thanks, access to artwork and script development up to a digital copy of the finished film. If you want to help it see this become a reality, head on over and lend it your support today!
