Holy Trailer Batman! Return Of The Caped Crusaders

Batman has been around for so long now that it seems there's an interpretation for every taste. Recently though, the character has been associated primarily with dark and gritty, with the double bill of Batman V Superman and the animated Killing Joke being the most recent examples. Even the hilarious Lego Batman, from The Lego Movie and his upcoming solo outing is a comedic spin on this. Luckily for those who prefer their Batman adventures to have a campier, lighthearted flavour the original screen Batman and Robin are making a comeback.

DC announced an animated movie featuring the 60's Batman a while back, but it has been all quiet on that front for some time now. More details have now finally emerged, including a brand new trailer.


Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders will bring back original dynamic duo Adam West and Burt Ward in the title roles, in a feature aiming to capture the feel of the classic series. The trailer doesn't actually feature footage from the film, but rather a specially animated sequence. It reveals that it will see the return of classic villains The Joker,  Riddler Catwoman and The Penguin. Catwoman will even be voiced by original cast member Julie Newmar. Most entertainingly of all, the clip promises  ("Holy Spoiler Alert!") that the old foes will clash "both on Earth.. and in Space". Sign us up!

Batman Return Of The Caped Crusaders will debut on Digital HD from October 11th, with DVD and Blu-ray release following on November 1st 2016.
