Steven Universe Returns May 12th With 'In Too Deep' Event.
Fans of Rebecca Sugar's smash hit Steven Universe have been (im)patiently awaiting news on the series's return from hiatus. The wait if finally nearly over, as the show is to resume airing this May, kicking off with a major four-week event.
Entitled In Too Deep, it will kick off with two back-to-back episodes airing May 12th, and will continue with a single episode airing for the next three weeks. A short teaser trailer has been released, and it's been doing a pretty good job of getting fans even more excited about the future of the series. The trailer shows the villainous Malachite, after apparently breaking out of her prison under the sea and facing off against Steven and The Gems.
"Something doesn't feel right about this", Steven is heard to say in the preview- and his fans too are left feeling an ominous chill after watching. What's going to happen, and what exactly will the lasting consequences be for Steven and Co?
Find out for yourself when In Too Deep starts airing on Cartoon Network in the US from 7pm Eastern/Pacific on Thursday May 12th. UK airdate is yet to be confirmed. Check out the trailer below via Entertainment Weekly.
