'Phineas and Ferb' Creators Bringing 'Milo Murphy's Law' To Disney XD

Fans of the hugely popular Phineas and Ferb were left feeling bereft last year when the series wrapped up for the last time. While that long summer may be over, but as suspected it's not the last we'll hear of the creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh. Not by a long shot as the pair have already been hard at work at a new show which is due to air on Disney XD later this year.

Milo Murphy's Law is the story of a kid who is the descendent of the man who inspired the phrase 'Murphy's Law' ("anything that can go wrong, will go wrong"). The youngster is therefore said to suffer from 'Extreme Hereditary Murphy's Law Syndrome'- or in layman's terms- he's basically going to be super unlucky. Despite his extreme misfortune, however, Milo is apparently upbeat and endlessly optimistic.

The series has quite the all-star cast with 'Weird' Al Yankovic voicing the lead (and also performing the theme song, naturally). Christian Slater, 'Flight Of the Concords' star Jermaine Clement, Sarah Chalke and Vanessa Williams will also feature. Povenmire and Marsh themselves will also make voice appearances, much as they did in Phineas and Ferb.

This isn't the first time Yankovic has voiced an animated character, as he has previously guested on shows including The Simpsons, My Little Pony and Teen Titans Go, This will be his first lead, however.

Povenmire and Marsh are reuniting with several of the creative team from their earlier show, including producers, directors and several staff writers. The image that has been released makes it look like it's going to look very similar too. Although it's very early days, based on this early information this already sounds pretty promising.

We won't have to wait too long to find out how it turns out, either. Milo Murphy's Law is due to air on Disney XD starting this autumn
