Animation Nights New York Best of Fest Coming September 29th-30th
In addition to the screenings, the event will host a number of industry and expert panels. Other screenings will include Mark Osborne's The Little Prince and GKIDS Films' A Letter To Momo and A Town Called Panic: Double Fun. The official press release featuring full details follows:

INAUGURAL BEST OF FEST EVENTS
(NEW YORK, NY) SEPTEMBER 19, 2016 – Animation Nights New York began as a screening and networking event in September of last year. Since that time we have had 2500 short animated films submitted internationally. The caliber of the screened work has been on par with any annual animation festival to date. We now have a community of over 3000 and attendance is growing. We have well over 500 attendees at our monthly screening events. People of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds are coming together at 180 Maiden Lane in the Seaport District for the love of ANIMATION. This September marks the one-year anniversary of Animation Nights New York. We have put together a two-day festival in celebration, Thurs-Fri, Sept 29-30, 2016, all day. Our panel judges – Emily Hubley, Anthony Haden-Guest and Leah Shore have selected 20 films from the 200 beautiful shorts screened at our curated monthly events. We are featuring Animation Screenings, VR Animation Experiences (Revrie Immersive Works), Professional Panels, Art Installation (Anderson Contemporary), Artist Booths, and Industry Events at 180 Maiden Lane and other locations around the South Street Seaport area of NYC. Our Best of Fest filmmakers will receive one year subscriptions to both Craft and Stash. Our Animation for Adults award winner will receive an Intuos Pro from Wacom.

We have a Virtual Reality Animation Showcase presented by REVRIE Immersive Works including The Unknown Photographer (Turbulent), Old Friend (Tyler Hurd), Invasion (Baobab Studios) with additional VR experiences by Framestore and Aardman Nathan Love.
Secondary screening content includes The New York Times Op-Docs: Animated Life Series, shorts by TED-Ed, The Stressful Adventures of Boxhead and Roundhead by Elliot Cowan, The Little Prince by Mark Osborne, a Loop-de-Loop collection, Bike Portraits by Sashko Danylenko, and from GKIDS, A Town Called Panic and A Letter to Momo.
Anderson Contemporary has curated ART IN MOTION, an exhibit of animation drawings, cells, video, painting, and sculpture (September 14 - October 7, 2016).
