Skadoosh! The Awesome First 'Kung-Fu Panda 3' Trailer is Here
The third Kung Fu Panda movie feels like it's been a long time coming. That's probably because it has, as by the time the third film in the franchise arrives early next year, it will be a few months short of half a decade since Kung Fu Panda 2. DreamWorks Animation's fortunes have been mixed lately, but with the Kung Fu Panda series, one of the studio's most popular franchises hopes are high. The 2008 original- much like the original How To Train Your Dragon- caught many people unaware by being as good as it was. Opinions on the sequel were a bit more mixed (but we think it's pretty great).
Originally planned for a late 2015 release, the film was pushed into early 2016 to avoid the log-jam of major releases this year (or maybe just Star Wars). The first trailer gives us a taste of what makes the series so enjoyable- a slice of expertly choreographed kung-fu awesomeness and some loveable comedy. In the later part of the trailer, Po (voiced again by Jack Black) meets his long-lost birth father (voiced by Bryan Cranston). The plot will see Po's Pa's Panda village menaced by a supernatural villain, forcing the unlikely Kung-Fu master to turn teacher and train the villagers to fight back.
Kung Fu Panda 3 will be released in the US on January 29th, with the UK release following March 18th 2016. Behold the trailer below!
