French/Japanese Feature 'Mutafukaz' Gets Stylish Teaser
French production companies have teamed up with Japanese animation studios numerous times in the past, resulting in some quality TV such as 80's classics Ulysses 31 and The Mysterious Cities Of Gold. The provocatively titled feature Mutafukaz however, promises to be an entirely different kettle of poisson.
Based on a cult French comic (or Bande Dessinee if you're feeling like showing off) of the same name, Japan's Studio 4°C is on animation duties, while original author Guillaume "Run" Renard will direct. It's not out until 2017, but it's certainly caught our attention with this eye-catching teaser. 4°C can usually be relied on for some beautiful animation, so combining it with a Gallic sensibility should be interesting at the very least.
The original graphic novel series follows a young man named Angelino who lives in Dark Meat City and picks up the ability to see supernatural creatures following a scooter accident. The series has already sold 100,000 copies in France and has been picked up for release in English by Titan Comics. Check out the teaser below.
